It's been a year and a half - eighteen months - since I started Papyrus Rampant! Thank you to all my 540+ loyal subscribers, from those of you who joined back in 2022 to those who joined this last week. Thank you also to all my readers, and thank you to all my commenters. It's been great to see a response - you're the ones who keep me coming back to write new posts here week after week.
And there’ll be more. I’ve got drafts ready for the next couple weeks, and ideas beyond that: dystopias, science fiction worldbuilding, the American Revolution, and more.
There is a chance I might slow down the pace of this blog sometime in the next several months. I don’t have definite plans for that - but between the rest of my life and the possibility of starting some sizeable fiction projects, there might come a time I’d change up my pace here. I’ll let you know if that happens; I won’t just miss a Saturday without a warning.
Please, let me know in the comments what brought you to this blog, or what you like most about it! Six months ago, I called out some of my own favorite posts; I’d like to hear yours!
And there’s a special treat for you today. Last month, I wrote about a fantasy novella that my sister wrote when we were teenagers. Her friend “Cydragon” drew some fanart of a dragonrider from that novella:
Sr. Thorn. Thanks again for consistently writing and writing generously. It is greatly appreciated.
PS. I notice that you have not yet enabled paid subscriptions. :)
I like your comments on DSL and I saw that you had a blog, so I clicked subscribe on substack, boringly simple. I enjoy your thoughts on books, though I don’t recall a single standout post off the top of my head!
